District 9 is a massively successful 2009 sci fi film directed by South African Neill Blomkamp and produced by Peter Jackson, director of the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The film stars a host of South African actors including Sharlto Copley, Simon Hansen, Shanon Worley and Vanessa Haywood.
Vanessay Haywood plays the role of Tanya van der Merwe, a key character in the film.
The film was extremely well received at the box office, grossing $37 million in the USA in its opening weekend.
